Press Communications’ 107.1 The Boss (WWZY) in Monmouth/Ocean, NJ celebrated the start of summer for a good cause. Hosted by Robby and Rochelle in the Morning, the 2024 Summer Blast Off raised $11,300 for The Maureen E Nolan Foundation.

The Summer Blast Off started in 1993 with WPLJ when Joe Nolan was teamed with Scott Shannon. The event moved with the duo to WCBS, before finding a home at WWZY in 2022. The free event at the Crab’s Claw Inn on the Jersey Shore featured performances from rock legends John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band and Gary US Bonds, among others.

The Maureen E Nolan Foundation provides scholarships to Catholic High School students in New Jersey.

Robby Bridges, VP of Programming and morning co-host, expressed enthusiasm about the event’s success, stating to Radio Ink, “Big fun to bring these two rock and roll legends to the shore for a great cause and a great day for Team Boss!”
