Kudos For KIRO

Theatre of the mind came alive courtesy of Bonneville’s KIRO-FM in Seattle. A standing room only crowd packed The Triple Door Theatre in downtown Seattle for “Another Special Very Special Evening With Tom and Curley,” KIRO’s 9a-Noon hosts Tom Tangney and John Curley. Along with producer Jacob Rummel the KIRO team put on a stage show that was filled with laughs, music, and surprises. This is the second time in a month KIRO has put on a successful, sold out stage show.   12-3p host Dori Monson’s hosted a one-man show in April that sold out 3-days after we put tickets on sale.

KIRO staffers Feliks Banel, Andrew Endzell, Rachel Belle and Ursula Reutin co-starred in the program.   A special guest appearance was made by Deborah Judd, the elementary school teacher who survived the Lake City shooting in March. Her inspiring story brought many in the crowd to tears. The station also raised money for Children’s Hospital as Curley auctioned off some items from the show.

KIRO Director of News and Programming Ryan Maguire said what really struck him was how diverse and engaged the entire crowd was. “The entire theatre was filled with men and women of different ages and ethnic backgrounds. All of them stuck around after the show to meet the cast members, get pictures and show genuine appreciation for their work. On a personal note, It’s humbling to work with such a talented group of people and to lead a radio brand with such loyal listeners. These are GREAT stories that speak very highly of KIRO as a media brand.”
