Company Refuses Station Order For Pens

WORL Orlando Promotions Director Joe Ferraro thought he had a great idea for a giveaway. He was given a pen designed to be a dust brush for a computer. That pen, which was shaped like a man with a grin and a red, white, and blue tie, gave him the idea — according to The Orlando Sentinel: “‘Trump 2020’ pen giveaways with the station logo on them.”

The paper says General Manager Bill Files called a promotional company and ordered 1,000 of them.

After agreeing on a deal, Ferraro got an email from the customizing company rejecting the order. When Ferraro asked why, the man at the company said, “I am unable to print anything promoting Trump. Honestly, I just don’t feel good about printing something that goes against my moral compass.”

Files tells the paper that it doesn’t make sense. “I can’t imagine what would be against a person’s moral compass to have the President of the United States’ name on the side of a pen.”

Salem Media owns WORL-AM in Orlando and Files went on Mike Gallagher’s syndicated show to talk about the issue, and now other stations have started to order the pens. it has turned into a national pen giveaway and WORL is now calling them Freedom pens.

Files says: “If you don’t want to complete the order, don’t complete the order. It’s America. These are Freedom Pens. People are free to do what they want.”

  1. So now a pen – not what is written using the pen, but just the pen in and of itself – has the ability to terrify?

I can’t believe how wussified this nation has become.

    • Possibly you are being facetious? The actual pens are not the point. Whether we agree or not, the owner of the customizing company passed on taking the order as a matter of princlple. Similar to when a radio station passes on an order, for ethical or philisophical reasons.

  2. OK, out with the obvious. If a bakery can be forced by the Supreme Court to bake a cake for a gay wedding, this promo company should be forced to make the pens…

  3. The argument here from Salem’s GM “I can’t imagine what would be against a person’s moral compass to have the POTUS’ name on the side of the pen”, terrifyingly would have been the exact same argument used during Nazi Germany…”I can’t imagine what would be against a person’s moral compass to have the Fuhrer’s name on the side of the pen.” !!

  4. Salem Radio certainly can be counted on to promote and support right wing conservatives, including POTUS. However the problem with the Trump pens is that the ink you wrote with, disappears after a couple of days! And women are never allowed to use them!
