As quickly as Entercom flipped out of the Country format in Seattle, Hubbard jumped in. Hubbard has flipped its Rock format to “New Country 98.9 FM,” using the slugline: “Nobody Plays More New Country.” Market Manager Marc Kaye said, “We at Hubbard Radio Seattle are looking forward to winning the Country war in Seattle. With a live and local Hubbard Radio mantra, it’s going to be a whole lot of fun building one of America’s great Country radio stations.” The station is now conducting a search for a PD.
98.9 THE ROCK turned Country! What the Hell!!! It WAS the best Rock station in Seattle! Why would you turn to a country station when there’s plenty of that already! I am sure the Billy Madison Show did NOT help it’s ratings at all – but could of got rid of him (them) and kept the ROCK station! Don’t understand when you turn it on Monday morning and it’s THE ROCK then you turn it on in the afternoon and it’s frickin Country! Boo on you for that decision….BAD MISTAKE!
Get them people (other than Billy Madison Show) a new gig in Seattle and get it back on a station ! What’s wrong with people!
Saturday it was a rock station, Monday as I listened to it on the way to work, I was confused as to why I was hearing a country band in the station..then I heard a couple more and was wondering what the hell was going on. (I just got a sticker to put on my car from the 98.9 ROCK, not COUNTRY, promotion booth at Kent Winter Festival)
Then a commercial came on saying it was NOW a country station. Whole shit! What the hell just happened?! I just had two rock stations to listen now I again only have KISW 99.9 the Rock..and why do we need another country station. I took the damn station off my programmed station. You have lost ANOTHER listener. Way to go.
Yep, this really sucks ASS! 98.9 Was the best thing going around here since the good old days of KISW and KXRX in the 80’s and early 90’s. The crews did a great job of playing awesome music and entertaining us during our daily work grind and home life. I hope for the worst both professionally and personally to whatever corporate asshole(s) that made this decision. May this be the last time in ur life that you displace peoples careers and lives like this. See you in Hell, you scumbag corporate cheese-DICKS!!!!!
