New York Names Pittman Broadcaster of The Year

On Thursday The board of directors of the New York State Broadcasters Association announced that iHeartMedia CEO Bob Pittman has been named its “Broadcaster of the Year.” NYSBA President David Donavan said, “Bob Pittman is a true industry leader and perhaps the most creative, visionary and dynamic executive in broadcasting. His views not only shape the radio industry, but the future of all media in this country.” Pittman has been named Radio Ink’s Most Powerful Person in Radio for 7 consecutive years.

Pittman will be honored at the New York Broadcast Leadership and Hall of Fame Luncheon which will be held at noon on October 19, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City.

  1. Agree completely with Dave Sanders. Pittman has not made one dime… not a dime… in profit in 7 years that he Pittman has been boss of Clear Channel/iheart. He has overseen decimating the local programming of hundreds of iheart stations and replacing local programming with voice tracking, recorded in most cases from hundreds of miles away. Most companies hold their CEO’s accountable to deliver quality products and profit, but obviously not Clear Channel/iheart. And this guy is getting another award???? Seriously??!!!

    • He is LITERALLY what is wrong with the industry and what is killing off radio, driving listeners away to other media. But if there is one thing corporate radio people are great at, it’s stroking each other’s egos and telling each other how great they all are and how they really have it all figured out…. even while circling the drain.
