Salem Has A New GM In Columbus
Salem Media Group has hired Carolyn Cassidy as its new GM in Columbus, Ohio. Cassidy previously held the GM spot at Salem’s Denver radio stations. She's also worked for Wilks Broadcasting in both Denver and Columbus.
Smokey Sounds Good To Entercom
Smokey Rivers has been named PD for Entercom's "The Sound" (KSWD-FM) in Seattle. Prior to joining Entercom, Rivers was VP of Programming at iHeartMedia in Phoenix and VP for all CBS Radio Adult Contemporary Stations. Until Smokey arrived, the programming duties were covered by VP of Programming Dave Richards.
50th Affiliate For “Sterling On Sunday”
Westwood One’s Sterling on Sunday talk show, featuring Walter Sabo a/k/a Walter Sterling, has signed its 50th affiliate – WBAP-AM in Dallas. The program, a mix of lifestyle, entertainment, and social conversation, launched in August 2017.
Marino Gets Lots Of Air In Dallas
Jenn Marino has been named as on-air host for ALT 103.7 KVIL-FM in Dallas-Fort Worth. Marino will lead morning drive as well as all three prime dayparts. She was previously a co-host for Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx.
Riley Rides To Buffalo
Cumulus has hired Jim Riley as Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus' Buffalo cluster. It's a return to the frozen tundra of upstate New York for Riley, who was GSM for the four stations prior to his promotion to VP/Market Manager for Cumulus in Erie in 2005. He replaced Steve Bearance who is moving south with his family.
Bob & Tom Show Gets Extension
The Bob & Tom Show has entered into a multi-year agreement with Westwood One, to continue to syndicate the award-winning morning radio show. The show is broadcast on over 100 affiliates in markets across the U.S.
More Bones In Canada
Premiere Networks and Orbyt Media are teaming up to distribute The Bobby Bones Show in Canada. Orbyt currently syndicates Bones’ weekend countdown program Country Top 30 with Bobby Bones, which is already being carried by stations in Ontario, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, British Columbia, and Manitoba.
Marciante Moves To DC, Takes Promotion
Nia Marciante has been named Promotions Director for iHeartMedia Washington, DC’s WASH-FM and WMZQ-FM. Marciante will report to Kim Sauer, Marketing Director for iHeartMedia’s Washington, DC, region.
Moe Goes To Bert Show
On Wednesday morning, The Bert Show officially introduced the newest member of their nationally syndicated morning radio show, Maurice “Moe” Mitchell. Moe joins host Bert Weiss and co-hosts Kristin Klingshirn and Davi Crimmins.
