Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is using unspent campaign money to promote the COVID-19 vaccine. McConnell is placing the ads on over 100 stations in his home state urging people to get vaccinated and "take advantage of this miracle."

On Wednesday the Toronto Blue Jays announced that dedicated radio broadcasts would begin again this week. Earlier this year, the Jays replaced their radio broadcasts with the TV simulcast due to COVID.

Romanik Station Auction Begins

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the auction sale of Bob Romanik's four St. Louis radio stations began this week. So far there are no bids. Romanik, who called himself the Grim Reaper of Radio, had his 4 AM licenses taken away by the FCC in 2020.

New Boss in Texarkana

Townsquare Media announced today that former SpotX Regional Director Chris Tingle has joined the Company as Market President in Texarkana. Tingle replace Brian Sines who was recently promoted to oversee Townsquare's Lafayette and Lake Charles markets.

Solk Promoted in Chicago

Audacy has promoted Greg Solk to VP of Programming and Operations for its Chicago cluster. Solk will now oversee programming WXRT-FM, WBMX-FM, WUSN-FM, WBBM Newsradio, WSCR-AM and WBBM-FM. Solk had previously served as Brand Manager of 93XRT since 2017.

'Roundball Rock', the iconic score composed by John Tesh, is being used again by NBC at the Tokyo Games. The nearly 30 year old theme is being used for men's and women's basketball games on Olympic broadcasts.
