After five weeks at number one on the Media Monitors weekly spot list, Walgreens has dropped down to number eight. GEICO retakes the top spot, moving up from number two, with its 40,262 commercials played on radio stations all over the country.

Five members of the House and two more Senators have joined as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act, which is a resolution opposing "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The resolution now has 225 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives and 23 in the Senate.

Greely, Colorado NPR-affiliate KUNC has launched a new 24-hour music discovery station called "The Colorado Sound" on 105.5 FM. KUNC has been LMAing the station since January 4 and should be getting final FCC approval to purchase it in the next month.
