Lucas Honored By Children’s Miracle Network
Alex Lucas, host of Entravision's syndicated morning show, El Show de Alex 'El Genio' Lucas, will be awarded Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ Hispanic Radio Person of the Year during Momentum, the charity’s annual Network-wide event. The award honors a U.S. Latino radio station staff member who has gone above and beyond in supporting CMN.
Slacker, XAPPmedia Sign Deal
Slacker Radio and XAPPmedia announced that Slacker will now use XAPP’s content discovery service across its stations. XAPP's content discoveries are served between music tracks, to promote stations, songs, and artists, and other features available on Slacker.
iHeart Austin Signs Billy The Kidd
The Billy The Kidd Show debuts on KHFI, 96.7 Kiss FM, Monday in morning drive. Anne Hudson will co-host the show with Kidd. Since December, mornings at KHFI have been music based, and Elvis Duran was on before that.
WLS-FM Adds Tom Kent
It was back in 1980 when Tom Kent first appeared on WLS, which was AM only at the time. Kent now returns to his old stomping grounds Saturday nights from 7p-Midnight with "Ultimate Party" on Cumulus Classic Hits WLS 94.7 FM. Kent said Brian Thomas is one of the smartest programmers out there bar none. "I mean, why else would he put me on the most legendary station on the planet?
WBLK Buffalo Adds Harvey
"The People’s Station," 93.7 WBLK in Buffalo (Townsquare) has added The Steve Harvey Morning Show to the station’s weekday morning lineup. WBLK Brand Manager Chris Reynolds stated, “WBLK is very excited to bring the heart, humor, music and celebrity of The Steve Harvey Morning Show to all of our listeners in Western New York.”
National Drags Univision Radio Down
Univision CEO Randy Falco said local advertising revenue was doing quite well for the radio division, it was national that was giving the company more problems. "That's a marketplace issue, not a performance issue," Falco told investors and analysts Tuesday. And again, thanks to National, pacings are down in the mid single digits for Q1 of this year. Falco also said that in 2012 - for all divisions - Univision brought in about $60 million on political revenue and he expects the company to bring in more this year.

(VIDEO) Fight Breaks Out At Dallas Gospel Station
A gospel radio station might be the last place you would expect a fight to break out, but when it comes to politics in America, anything can happen. KHVN near Dallas hosted Democrats John Wiley Price, a longtime Dallas County Commissioner, and Dwaine Caraway, a former city council member. A fight broke out when, it appears, one accused the other of having an adulterous affair with his wife. Of course, it was all caught on video. The cops had to be called to the station.
Pirate Operating From NY Shipping Container
Several publications around New York are calling it a pirate, which was what brought the station to our attention. However, when we contacted the station they told us they were only online.
