35-year old Joseph Gerard Spooner, also known as "J.G. Spooner" was arrested Tuesday after allegedly funneling $7,000 in donations made to a GoFundMe campaign that was started for a woman suffering from cystic fibrosis. Spooner was fired by CBS Radio's 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland earlier this week, according to Cleveland.com.

Hiram Lazar is the new CFO for Compass Media Networks. Lazar has held senior positions at Dial Global and Westwood One, and served as CFO for Monroe College.

The deal is for three more NFL seasons on Q100.3 after Blarney Stone Broadcasting signed a new affiliate agreement with the team's flagship station, Cumulus' WJR-AM. Blarney Stone is co-owned by Sheryl and Jerry Coyne. Rock station WQON-FM is located in Grayling, MI.

Sony Music alleges it was defrauded of millions of dollars when Rdio, the streaming service backed by former Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey, sold to Pandora then filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

That's according to a study of 500 people between the ages of 17 and 59 done by Kelly Music Research. The company says fewer than 8% of the respondents they surveyed were using the paid versions of Pandora, Spotify, or SoundCloud, and advertiser-supported free is still preferred among those who have embraced streaming. And, according to the research, if free were no longer an option, few said they would ante up.

The Conclave Learning Conference has named Midwest Communications CEO Duke Wright its 2016 Rockwell Award Winner. The Conclave's Rockwell Award honors individuals who have contributed to the industry as a leader and to the community. The award will be presented to Wright during the Conclave’s 41st anniversary celebration, July 14 and 15 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Minneapolis.

Sharon Bordwell has been promoted to Corporate Controller for Adams Radio Group. Bordwell joined Adams in October, 2014, as a General Accountant. Prior to Adams, Bordwell served in public accounting specializing in audit of financial institutions. Sharon also worked as a private consultant for small to mid-size companies.
