iHeart Targets Radio One In Indianapolis

iHeartMedia has given up on country music in Indianapolis. After 14 months the company has flipped formats from country to Hip Hop and will now battle with Radio One for that audience.

The new iHeartMedia station in Indianapolis is called Real 98.3 and it will be taking on Radio One, which has a hip-hop station in the market at 96.3. The iHeart station kicked off Monday at noon with with “10,000 joints in a row” commercial-free, featuring hits from major hip-hop and R&B artists like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Usher, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé. In addition, Real 98.3 will be anchored by the syndicated morning show The Breakfast Club, with the full programming lineup to be announced soon.
