CBS Radio Collecting Blood
101.9 AMP Radio in Orlando and The Big Red Bus are teaming up to help the Orlando community. The Big Red Bus will be taking donations, of all types of blood, in the radio station parking lot from 8am to 2pm on Monday. The station adds that if local resident want to help but are unable to give blood, they will gladly accept donations of water, sports drinks and orange juice as well.

Bewley New Digital Director For Hubbard In Twin Cities
Jesse Bewley has been named Digital Director for Hubbard Radio Minneapolis St.-Paul. Bewley will oversee the digital strategy for Hubbard’s three radio stations in the Twin Cities: KS95-FM, myTalk 107.1 and 1500 ESPN. He replaces Jeremy Sinon who was recently promoted to corporate position.
Conn to Continue on WGN
WGN has extended the contract of afternoon host Roe Conn into the year 2020. Conn began hosting weekday afternoons at WGN Radio in January 2015.
Trust in Programmatic Increases
That's according to a new study released by SRATA. The first quarter survey found that digital spend is increasingly being executed through programmatic exchanges. Thirty-seven percent trust programmatic to execute digital orders, a 22% increase from last quarter. What about non-digital buying?
IAB Reports Record Web Revenue
The Interactive Advertising Bureau reported Thursday that U.S. Internet ad revenue hit $15.9 billion in Q1 2016, up from $13.2 billion from a year ago. The 21% year-over-year first-quarter increase is the biggest jump in four years. In 2015, the industry hit a high of $50 billion. This first quarter indicates 2016 could be the biggest year ever for digital ad spending.

(by John Garziglia) Elaine Bonin of Franklin, Wisconsin received several sports scores via text courtesy of CBS Radio but did not recall signing up. Like any good citizen, recognizing that under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act she might recover between $500 and $1,500 per text, she visited her lawyer for assistance. Her lawyer, recognizing that CBS Radio probably sent out many such text messages to many people, filed a class action lawsuit.
Trump Camp Wants Hewitt Banned
Syndicated talker Hugh Hewitt was very critical of Donald Trump this week after Trump criticized Judge Gonzalo Curiel over the Trump University lawsuit. Some are calling Trump a racist. Hewitt wants the Republicans to find a new candidate.
