As a result of the RAB's recent announcement that it would no longer release revenue numbers for radio, Radio Ink has learned that, starting with the third quarter, BIA/Kelsey will start releasing a "quarterly assessment" of the industry.

In the weeks that followed the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured 264, Glenn Beck said on his show that Saudi Arabian student Abdulrahman Alharbi was the money man for the plot. Police interviewed Alharbi, who was injured in the bombing, and cleared him. Alharbi is sueing beck for defamation.

According to Leftlane, Ford has created new technology that will improve the FM radio signal and will debut it in 2017 Escape and Fusion vehicles. It's called dual radio reception.

In September, CSN Mid-Atlantic will start simulcasting The Sports Junkies morning show which airs on CBS' 106.7 The Fan in Washington D.C. The Junkies have been together for 20 years and this is the first TV simulcast for the program. READ MORE HERE.

It's a multi-year extension between Cumulus-owned Westwood One and Brooks, no other details were given. Brooks has been hosting the syndicated program American Country Countdown for ten years now.

Kellogg becomes the new Operations Manager for Cumulus' five-station cluster in Fort Walton Beach (WKSM-FM (Rock), WNCV-FM (AC), WYZB-FM (Country), WZNS-FM (Top 40), and WFTW-AM (News/Talk). He'll also program WNCV and WFTW and co-host mornings on WNCV with Lisa Captain.

One of the new features from the RAB, following the discontinuation of its revenue reports, is a new blog called "Radio Impact Reports." The blog, written by RAB President and CEO Erica Farber and others on the RAB team, will focus on current news, information, and insights about radio, and encourage an open dialogue with broadcasters, advertisers, agencies, and listeners.

Robby Bridges is now the Director of FM Programming for Cumulus' Detroit cluster, which includes Hot AC WDVD, Country WDRQ (NASH FM 93.1), and Classic Country (NASH ICON 93.1 HD2). He will also continue to anchor PM drive on WDVD.

It's a newly created position at Neuhoff Communications for Mike Shamus: Corporate VP of Programming and Content. Shamus has served as Operations Manager and half of the Shamus and Annie morning show in Neuhoff’s Lafayette, Indiana, cluster for the last seven years.

Alpha Media‘s Energy 94.1 in San Antonio has hired Tino Cochino to cover weeknights. Cochino said, “San Antonio played a huge part early on in the shaping of my radio career. I'm extremely excited to be back on-air in such an amazing market with an amazing team."
