The Radio Music License Committee has announced the filing of an antitrust complaint against Global Music Rights concerning what the RMLC calls anticompetitive behavior. Global Music Rights was founded in 2013 by Irving Azoff and represents music rights holders for the licensing of their public performances.

According to Nielsen, seven out of ten adults were aware of the Chicago Town Hall meeting with Mayor Rahm Emanuel. The meeting was organized by radio stations in the city of Chicago and all of them broke format to broadcast the 30 minute interview conducted by Bill Kurtis.

We mentioned we’d heard a TV pundit state that, based on the results and how wrong big data got it, that it was “dead.” The agency suggested that it surely wasn’t but that it might be somewhat “wounded.”

KNBR Interview Nets Coach $25K Fine

The NBA has fined Warriors head coach Steve Kerr $25,000 for criticizing referees during an interview on KNBR in San Francisco. According to SFGate.com Kerr was critical of a missed call in a Warrior's game and was also critical of refs not calling traveling. The NBA does not take kindly to coaches publicly calling out their officials and slapped Kerr with the big fine.

KTAR Deepens Commitment To “Local” With New Show

Bonneville’s News and Sports station KTAR (Phoenix) is adding a local evening news-driven talk show, Reality Check with Darin Damme, on January 3. Damme, who started in radio at the age of 12 at KMOG in Payson, is a former highly-rated Top 40 morning show host on KZZP and KZON in Phoenix.
