Scott Chiasson is the new Vice President/Market Manager for Cumulus Media Lafayette. Chiasson, a native of Lafayette, has 18 years’ experience in broadcast sales and operations, holding leadership positions for Scripps in Wichita, Clear Channel/iHeart in Colorado and Florida, Metro Networks in Orlando, Cox Media in Lafayette, and CBS Radio in Tampa.

The station is WETN-FM in Wheaton, Illinois, which broker Greg Guy at Patrick Communications tells us is part of the Chicago market. The trustees of Wheaton College are selling the station to Educational Media Foundation for $150,000. The station will flip to EMF's Air1 format upon closing early next year.

670-AM The Score play-by-play analyst Pat Hughes has released a CD reliving the radio story of the 2016 World Champion Cubs as the games were heard on the station.

Another year is coming to an end and Westwood One News has produced two long-form year-in-review programs for stations. They are: The Year in Review – The Big Stories and The Year in Review – People, Sports and Entertainment. Westwood One News will also provide a series of Year in Review reports for unlimited use by affiliates from December 22, 2016 through January 2, 2017.

Host Steve Warren teams up with Whisperin’ Bill Anderson for the holiday edition of The Country Oldies Show which is distributed commercial-free, but available for stations’ to sell to local advertisers.

Premiere Networks is offering a four-hour, commercial-free Christmas special hosted by Cody Alan. Available to air anytime from December 23-25, 2016, Cody Alan’s Christmas Special will feature some of the biggest Country artists, along with Christmas music. An incredible 1.3 million pounds (over 683 tons) of non-perishable food items were collected during Preston & Steve's Camp Out for Hunger this year. It's the largest collection in the 19 years the event has been held.

The 28th Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse, held December 1 and 2 on “Bemidji’s Big Three Music Stations” KB101, KZY 95.5, and Z99, raised $34,287. The 24-hour “Education, Action and Auction” event supports programs in the Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater, and Hubbard Counties of northern Minnesota and has raised a total of $1,083,218 since its inception in 1989.

On Tuesday, Triton Digital announced that entertainment company NOVA in Australia has joined its a2x programmatic audio advertising exchange.

It was a remarkable, record-setting effort by the Washington D.C. station. Its 13th annual Fisher House Radiothon, raised $491,064 December 3-4, broadcasting from the Fashion Center at Pentagon City. The Fisher House Foundation provides homes away from home for the families of injured servicemen and women while their partners are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation.
