Rockies Announcers Staying With KOA Denver

iHeartMedia’s KOA NewsRadio has signed multi-year contract renewals with Jack Corrigan and Jerry Schemmel that will keep them as the radio play-by-play voices of the Colorado Rockies. KOA has a deal for Rockies broadcasts through the 2021 season and has served as the Rockies’ flagship since the club’s inception in 1993.

Political Drives Strong Q4 For Radio One

With $5.7 million in political revenue in Q4 of 2016, Radio One was able to post a net revenue increase of $3.8% for a total of $113.6 million, from all of its divisions. The radio division was up 1.2% for the quarter with local revenue down 4.1% and national up $7.3%, largely driven by political.

Saga Communications CEO Ed Christian said revenue was good in 2016 and he's thankful for everything that happened. Of course, political revenue helped radio in 2016 and Saga was no different taking in $929K in political radio revenue in Q4 and $1.9 million in political revenue for radio for the full year.

That's according to CEO Ed Christian who told investors and analysts on Tuesday that he's identified two opportunities he's working on. Saga operates in mid-sized markets and that's where their focus will stay. Christian said, "We operate below the radar and above the weather. We have ball control in those markets."
