Entercom Goes R&B in New Orleans

The company launched Hot 103.7 FM, a new R&B station, on Friday. The station debuts with the kickoff of “Big Abe in the Morning”, hosted by Abraham “Big Abe” Johnson. Johnson is an on-air veteran in New Orleans and has previously worked as a producer and assistant program director in the market.

Jose Valle Joins The Circus

It's true. The former Univision executive is leaving radio to join Cirque du Soleil. As of April 4th Valle will be the VP of sales for the company, based out of Las Vegas. Valle told Radio Ink he didn't want to leave radio but this opportunity with Cirque is just to epic to pass up. Valle is moderating the Hispanic Radio Executive Leadership Roundtable at our upcoming Hispanic Radio Conference.

The National Association of Media Brokers made the announcement Sunday. Hawkins was a longtime member of NAMB. He passed away at a rehabilitation facility near his home in Wetumpka, Alabama, on Thursday, March 9 after undergoing surgery a week earlier.

Zach Bye, formerly the co-host of Big Board Sports on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio, is making the move to Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan (KKFN-FM)/Denver, to team up with Brandon Stokely. Stokley and Zach will air weekdays from 12 to 3 p.m., beginning Friday, March 31, 2017.

Cypin And Kiss Are Made For Afternoons

WKSE/KISS 98.5 FM in Buffalo has brought in Greg Cypin to be the station’s Music Director and afternoon drive-time on-air talent. Cypin lands in Buffalo from Boise, having previously done stints in Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Portland. He officially joins the KISS staff March 27.
