Our thanks to Penny Leal, night host for HITS 96 in Chattanooga. She’s a native Houstonian with ties to KRBE in Houston. “They gave me my first shot at radio as an intern for Roula and Ryan. I’m so impressed with the work they’re doing right now (and always).” And right after Harvey blew through Houston, the cluster Leal now works for came together to collect items for Texas. “Grocery stores served as drop-off locations and a ton of needed supplies were collected.”
Leal says she has to give credit to her PD Danny Howard who threw the idea together quickly, “with no prompting from the only Texan at the station.” She said, “It’s been really heartwarming seeing so many people come together to support my city.”
