For over 30 years, any worthwhile strategies and methodologies, as they apply to influencing audiences, have been tapped, drained, and discarded.

They’ve shuffled the schedule at JAM’N 95.7, “San Diego’s Hip Hop and R&B station,” and it goes into effect today. Frankie “V” Vinci will go from afternoon drive to co-host morning drive with Tati Pelegreen; Nina Chantele has been added to middays; and Pablo Sato has moved from morning drive to afternoon drive.

There’s a new morning show ready to go for Y100 WNCY Appleton-Green Bay – “Your Home For Country and Fun.” Randy “Shotgun” Shannon is teaming up with 12-Year veteran morning show co-host Charli McKenzie. PD Dan Stone said, "Shotgun & Charli share a great chemistry and this show is going to be a ton of fun." The show kicks off today.

This is taking a radio success story to a whole new level. All of us in radio sales have asked clients to record testimonials, hoping to convince other advertisers in our market about the power of radio, not to mention to give our clients a little extra airtime. Broadcasters in Chicago have come together and developed one of the best ways to tell Radio's story using the testimonial approach.

Entercom CEO David Field will receive the National Radio Award during the Radio Luncheon at this year’s Radio Show in Austin. NAB Executive VP of Radio John David said, “David’s passion for radio and business savvy have led Entercom to new heights. We look forward to recognizing him for his continuous dedication and significant contributions to the business.” In February, Entercom announced a merger with CBS Radio that will make it the second-largest radio broadcaster.

It seems we've been reporting more about the FCC taking aim at illegal broadcasters under new Chairman Ajit Pai, especially the past few weeks. Thursday, another flurry of pirates were notified they had 10 days to end their operation and respond to the FCC to explain what they were doing operating radio stations without a government license. Here's where the latest group comes from...

The only remaining half of Opie and Anthony, Gregg "Opie" Hughes was fired by SiriusXM, Thursday. His former partner, Anthony Cumia, was fired from the satellite company three years ago after going on a racist tirade on Twitter. SiriusXM issued a brief statement about the firing...

That's according to a new independent study commissioned by the NAB. The study, which you can read HERE, details every radio station that might be affected and exactly which television station might affect them. The stations may need to reduce power, shut down, or operate from an auxiliary facility for work being done on a neighboring TV station antenna to ensure tower worker safety from radio frequency exposure. The NAB has sent the document to the FCC.

Taylor slid in behind the mic, Thursday, for OTS Media Country stations “Interstate 107” WRHM-FM/107.1 in Rock Hill, SC, and WVSZ-FM/107.3 in Chesterfield, SC. He can be heard on air from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Meruelo Media has begun operating KPWR-FM in Los Angeles. Merulo is purchasing the Hip Hop station from Emmis for $82.8 million. The format will stay the same and Val Maki will continue to manage the station. In fact, Maki will be the market manager for three stations now: KPWR, Muruelo Media's KDAY-FM in Los Angeles, and the newly launched Riverside station 93.5 The Wild.
