Kevin Weatherly will drop his PD duties at 97.1 AMP as Chris Ebbott (pictured) takes over that role. Ebbott is also PD of K-EARTH. CBS Radio says this will allow Weatherly to focus more on the strategic direction of the market’s music formats.

Both promotions are at Hip Hop station Power 105.1 FM. Eddie Fennel (left) is promoted to APD after serving as executive producer of The Breakfast Club. DJ Prostyle moves into the music director's chair and will continue as the midday host. Prostyle has been on the air at Power for more than six years. He also worked as resident DJ on BET’s 106 & Park.

Dahn Burke is the new Digital Sales and Operations Director for WRQX-FM and WMAL-AM/FM in Washington, DC. It's a newly created position for Burke and she will now work with local businesses to create fully integrated marketing solutions across e-mail, social, Web, mobile, radio, streaming radio, and podcasts.

WWOZ/New Orleans has hired Marcel McGee to lead the station's development efforts. He starts August 1. McGee has two decades of experience in donor relations and fundraising with a variety of institutions, including Loyola University New Orleans, Dillard University, the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations and The American Red Cross-Southeast Louisiana Chapter.

The NAB Education Foundation, in partnership with the Broadcast Education Association, will host its annual Career Fair September 7 at the Radio Show in Austin. The fair is intended to provide experienced professionals and entry-level job seekers an opportunity to network with radio companies.

Arizona Senator John McCain returned to the Senate, after being diagnosed with brain cancer, to vote on repealing Obamacare. McCain called for more civility from his colleagues in Washington. He then ripped into talk radio and what those who work in that business really want for this country. Here's what he had to say.

In her latest report to investors Wells Fargo analyst Marci Ryvicker says radio revenue "is slow but improving." Ryvicker expects Entercom's Q2 revenue to be off 2% with the Charlotte market up 1%. She's also expecting CBS Radio to be down 3.5% for the second quarter.

Newell Normand is trading in his badge for a microphone. Entercom's WWL in New Orleans has hired Normand to host middays, taking over for longtime host Garland Robinette who's retiring. Normand spent 37 years with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. He'll officially retire as Jefferson Parish Sheriff August 31 and start his new radio hosting duties Monday, September 11.
