LRFA Up To 209 Congressman
Two more members of the House of Representatives have joined as cosponsors of a resolution that opposes any new performance fee, tax or royalty on radio. The Local Radio Freedom Act now has 187 cosponsors in the House and 22 in the Senate. The latest to sign on in the House are Reps. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina and New Jersey's Donald Norcross.
Country Music’s First Couple Celebrate The USA
Westwood One’s annual 4-hour Independence Day special will feature country royalty this year in the form of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Celebrate the USA sees the CMA, ACM, and GRAMMY-winners joining an A-list of stars, including Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Kelsea Ballerini.
Beasley Media New Jersey Stations Win Big
WDHA-FM and WCTC-AM took top honors in two categories at the annual New Jersey Ad Club Jersey Awards, on June 7. WDHA-FM won “Best Radio Spot” for Oink and Moo BBQ. WCTC-AM won “Best Podcast” for The State Theatre.

Baxter Makes a Stop With Cumulus in L.A.
Cumulus has appointed Mary Baxter GSM for KLOS-FM and KABC in Los Angeles. Baxter joins Cumulus from Crossroads WOW, where she was Regional Sales Director. Previously, she was LSM for CBS Radio’s 97.1 AMP (KAMP-FM) in L.A. She also spent 16 years at KIIS-FM for Clear Channel/iHeart Media-Los Angeles.

Out of the Motor City comes the news that WXYT-FM “The Ticket” is teaming Kyle Bogenschutz with air-talent Wojo for the new Wogo and Bogey Show, weekdays at 6 p.m. In addition, he will host Pistons Weekly, beginning June 8 at 8 p.m.
Toledo’s 92.5 KISS-FM Gets Its Mojo On
The station announced Wednesday, the debut of the Mojo in the Morning show, on June 19. The show will air weekdays from 5-10 a.m., broadcast from its Detroit studio. Mojo in the Morning will feature on-air personalities Mojo, Spike, and Shannon, who will look at pop culture and the latest trends in music and entertainment.
