Jane Pauley Wins Lifetime Achievement Award
The journalist, author, and CBS anchor is being honored by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. She will receive the award at the 42nd Annual Gracie Awards Luncheon. CBS Sunday Morning journalist Martha Teichner will present the award, while Dylan Dreyer, weather anchor of NBC News’ Weekend TODAY, will serve as host.

The Steve Harvey Morning Show, syndicated by Premiere Networks, now has 100 affiliates across the country. Premiere Networks President Julie Talbot said, “This is a major milestone for Steve Harvey and his team, who have successfully entertained and inspired millions of listeners since The Steve Harvey Morning Show was launched nearly 17 years ago."

Pai To Keynote Radio Luncheon
FCC Chairman Ajit Pai will keynote the Radio Luncheon at the Radio Show Wednesday, September 6. NAB CEO Gordon Smith said, “Throughout his tenure at the FCC, Ajit Pai has recognized time and again the indispensable role that local radio plays in communities across America." The Radio Show, produced by the NAB and RAB is September 5-8 in Austin.

On Tuesday, the Radio Television Digital News Association objected to what could be an upcoming move by the U.S. Senate Rules Committee that would make it more difficult for broadcast and other reporters to question senators about public policy in the U.S. Capitol.
Husband Of Murdered Radio Host Arrested
Former WOND New Jersey host April Kauffman (pictured here) was found dead in her bedroom five years ago. Nobody has ever been charged with her killing. Dr. James Kauffman, now remarried, was her husband at the time. He was arrested Tuesday after he pulled a gun on authorities attempting to execute a search warrant at his office.

News/Talk station KMOX-AM 1120/St. Louis has shown how it’s done, winning a triad of first-place awards from the Missouri Broadcasting Association. The station won for Complete Newscast, Breaking News, and The Deadly Dish, a five-part News series about the ever-growing number of people impacted by food allergies in the U.S.
MIW’s Name A New Spokesperson
The Mentoring & Inspiring Women in Radio Group has announced Denyse Mesnik as its new spokeswoman. Mesnik succeeds Kay Olin, who held the position since 2014 and will continue serving as a member of the MIW Executive Committee.
New Duties For Fletcher In St. Louis
Dustin Fletcher has been named Director of Alternative Rock Programming for iHeartMedia’s St. Louis Region as well as the PD for ALT 106.3 in Des Moines. He'll continue to serve as the PD for ALT 104.9, St. Louis’ Alternative Rock.
