Evicted: Voice of America

Russia’s lower house of parliament has banned Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. The Russian government declared the organizations “foreign agents.” It’s retaliation for what the U.S. did to the English-language Russian network RT. Congress rescinded the accreditation of RT, after the Justice Department required that RT register as a foreign agent because of its alleged role in interfering in U.S. affairs and the 2016 presidential campaign. Russian leaders called the move against them an assault on freedom of the press.
