The 35-year annual charitable event, the E.J. Jackson Foundation Turkey Giveaway, served long lines of people, stretching for blocks in South L.A., as they waited to receive a turkey with all the trimmings donated by the E.J. Jackson Foundation.

On the heels of the merger with CBS Radio, the Entercom management team, along with founder Joe Field, rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. They've been losing money for years and now with an owner nobody can find, and bills left unpaid, five Sarnac Lake radio stations will be auctioned off in two weeks. The Saranac Lake Radio Company, which celebrated 90 years in September, and was the voice of the community, is a shell of the radio company it once was and is hardly broadcasting today.

The Country Radio Broadcasters has named Jennifer Hays (Music Director/On Air, KCTR/Billings, MT), Mark Wells (PD KCYT-FM/Fayetteville, AR), and Jamie Jackson (Promotions Director 95.3 KRTY/San Jose) as recipients of the 2018 Rusty Walker Scholarship. Each will receive an all-expenses-paid trip and attendance to CRS 2018.

Frisbie most recently founded Frisbie Consulting where he helped clients with media/digital/mobile/video sales strategies and operations. Before starting his own company, Frisbie was EVP of Sales at Jun Group, where he led the company’s national media sales efforts, and eight years as the VP of Sales at iHeartRadio.

It's an annual tradition...34 years and counting for the New York Market Radio Association's holiday party. This year it will be held on Friday, December 1, at the Rock & Reilly’s Rooftop Lounge in the Renaissance Hotel in New York City. At the event, radio managers and account executives have the opportunity to mingle with local and national media buyers.

Bishop will be assisting with production and on-air duties. A broadcast industry veteran who has worked as an air personality for 30-plus years, coast to coast, Bishop most recently worked with Christian FM radio network.

With all the format flips to Christmas music taking place, Radio Ink would like to thank Ken Benson and the P1 Media Group for sharing their list of the top-tested Christmas songs of 2017. Ken tells us that seven of the top 10 Christmas songs were released between 1945 and 1963.

iHeartMedia's 106.7 LITE FM is now celebrating the holidays. The Bob and Christine Morning Show, along with Rich Kaminski and the Radio City Rockettes, flipped the Christmas music switch marking the beginning of the Christmas season in New York City. The station will play Christmas music through Christmas Day.

Beasley's Magic 98.3 in Somerset, New Jersey is now playing holiday tunes. PD Debbie Mazella said, "We are all very happy to continue the annual tradition of becoming Jersey's Christmas Station and play non-stop holiday music to add to the excitement of the season." When the station is not playing Christmas tunes the format is "Today’s Hits &Yesterday’s Favorites."
