JJade and Cowboy Curt have joined Broadway as co-hosts on morning show Broadway’s Backyard on 107.9 FM Y108 (WDSY-FM/Pittsburgh). Broadway’s Backyard debuted on Y108 during the fall of 2017 and airs weekday from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET.

When was the last time an FM signal sold for a few thousand dollars? 3,000-watt WLPW-FM (105.5), licensed to Lake Placid, NY (market 148), is being sold for $32,000 by Radio Lake Placid Inc. The buyer is North Country Radio Inc. and the broker for the deal was Jason James of Patrick Communications.

AMP Radio L.A. Gets A New Morning Show

KAMP-FM in Los Angeles announces that Edgar Sotelo and Brian Moote will be the new hosts of the morning show in February. Sotelo was previously the morning host of WBMP in New York. He was born in Mexico, raised in Southern California and has won a Marconi. Moote was previously part of “The Bert Show,” in Atlanta and is a stand-up comedian.

On Monday iHeartMedia announced a slew of new integrations for iHeartRadio, just in time for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Listeners will now have the ability to access iHeartRadio through a bot for Facebook Messenger; Samsung’s new voice service, Bixby; Jibo, the first social robot for the home; Garmin’s new GPS running watch, and Roku.

U.S. Trustee Files Objection to Cumulus Plan

William Harrington, the United States Trustee for Region 2 has filed an objection to Cumulus' Disclosure Statement For Joint Plan of Reorganization. The trustee listed five reasons why the objection is being filed and has asked the court to deny the Reoganization Disclosure statement.

El Dorado Promotes Villones

Bob Villones is now the permanent Market Manager for the El Dorado Broadcasters’ Yuma cluster (KTTI-FM and AM 560 KBLU). Villones had served as DOS of the Yuma Cluster from 2012-2014. He rejoined El Dorado in Yuma as Sales Manager in early 2017, and then took on the role of acting General Manager in May 2017 when Ira Rosenblat left.

That's according to Cumulus/Westwood One Chief Insights Officer Pierre Bouvard who writes about the topic in his latest blog. Bouvard quotes a recent study of 2,617 consumers conducted by Vision Critcal/MARU. The consumers were asked if they hear the ads that run on Pandora, Spotify, and radio?

Salem Media Group has hired Lorenzo Caldara to run its Philadelphia cluster of radio stations (WFIL-AM and WNTP-AM). Prior to joining Salem, Lorenzo spent 25 years at News-Talker WKXW-FM in New Jersey. Throughout his career, Caldara held positions as an AE, GSM, DOS, GM, and VP/Corporate Director of Sales.
