(By Ronald Robinson) The group was summoned – made up of a number of astute, experienced, and credible radio professionals. A dozen of these folks were invited to a virtual meeting to discuss a number of challenges that radio has been experiencing for some time.

This will be the 18th straight year FOX Sports Radio has covered the big game. Broadcasting across a network of more than 400 station in the U.S., as well as FOXSportsRadio.com and iHeartRadio, the network will do blanket coverage in Minneapolis from January 29 to February 2.

Originally it was reported, by Minnesota Public Radio, that its relationship with Garrison Keillor was abruptly ended because of "inappropriate behavior" with one female colleague. Keillor played down that allegation by saying it was nothing more than placing his hand on a woman's back to console her. A new MPR investigation details alleged years of bad behavior that left several women who worked for Keillor feeling mistreated, sexualized or belittled.

Triton Digital and Edison Research say the results of the 2018 U.S. Infinite Dial will be broadcast via Facebook Live Thursday, March 8 at 2 p.m. EST. The Infinite Dial study examines digital media consumption habits of Americans, including time spent with digital audio, podcasts, smart speakers, social media, video, mobile, and more.

Chicago’s WGN will launch a new streaming sports show on January 30. Sports Central will air from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on wgnradio.com and the WGN Radio app. Hosted by Adam Hoge, the show will be a daily hub for Chicago’s sports conversation.

Beasley Media CEO Caroline Beasley will keynote the DiGamma Kappa scholarship banquet on Thursday. DiGamma Kappa is the official Broadcasting Society of the University of Georgia. Every year, the society presents the DiGamma Kappa Distinguished Achievement Award in Broadcasting and Cable “For Exceptional Service.”

Los Angeles television anchor and reporter Lauren Sivan has joined Dr. Drew Pinsky as co-host of the daily News Talk radio show Dr. Drew Midday Live with Lauren Sivan. The show airs live Monday through Friday, Noon-3 p.m. on Talk Radio 790/KABC Radio (Los Angeles) and from 1-3 p.m. in a live simulcast on News Talk station KGO 810 (San Francisco). 

After five years in the Financial District, Sun Broadcast Group has opened its new location in New York City on 7th Avenue, steps away from Madison Square Garden. CEO Jason Bailey said, “I’m so excited about our new Midtown Manhattan home. I think we hit the jackpot. The new SBG-NYC is a place we look forward to entertaining in for many years to come.”

Beasley Media Group’s Fayetteville radio cluster, in collaboration with Cape Fear Valley Health, will present Fayetteville Fights Back to raise awareness about the opioid epidemic. The uninterrupted commercial-free, one-hour live simulcast, featuring experts from the front lines, will take place on Tuesday, January 30, 5-6 p.m.
