Radio Ink Publisher Deborah Parenti's latest column has been one of our most read, and most commented on, columns in years. Of the approximate 11,300 AM and FM radio stations in America, over 11% of them (iHeart with 850/Cumulus with 445) are now under the umbrella of bankruptcy. The veteran radio personality is back on the air Monday 3/19 after ten-month absence to deal with throat cancer. Wainwright said the cancer was discovered last April almost by accident, and it's been an ongoing medical odyssey ever since.

Eric Small, the founder of Modulation Sciences, was struck and killed at a Publix in Delray Beach this past weekend. The elderly driver of the vehicle apparently had a heart attack and lost control of her car, striking Small and another person who also died.

That was the name of a panel last week at Radio Ink's Hispanic Radio Conference in Miami. The RAB's Jeff Schmidt was one of the presenters. Schmidt provided some excellent information about where you should search for top salespeople, and how you should interview them.

The NAB Show will feature a panel of leading women in media to discuss the impact of disruptive forces on audience, revenue and the workforce. The panel will take place on Monday, April 9 on the Main Stage of the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

Cumulus Media has flipped the frequencies of two of its stations in Harrisburg, PA. CHR station WWKL-FM (formerly known as HOT 93.5 FM) moved from 93.5 on the dial to 106.7, the most powerful signal in the market, as the new HOT 106.7.
