Four Get Division-Sized Promotions At iHeart
iHeartMedia has promoted four of its Region Presidents to Division Presidents of the iHeartMedia Markets Group. Linda Byrd, Scott Hopeck, Brian Olson, and Jeff Tyler will expand their current Region President roles to include Division President responsibilities -- joining current Division Presidents Kevin LeGrett and Tom McConnell.
It’s 18 And Out For Boomer
Boomer Esiason has decided not to return as color analyst for Westwood One’s NFL broadcasts after 18 years in the Monday Night Football booth. “It has been an honor to be a member of the Westwood One NFL broadcast team for the last 18 years,” said Esiason.
Report: Kurt Warner To Replace Esiason
The New York Post is reporting that Hall of Famer Kurt Warner is in line to replace Boomer Esiason on Westwood One. Over the last several years, Esiason and Warner have split the games on Mondays, working with play-by-player Kevin Harlan. Esiason always called the Super Bowl. Warner also works for the NFL Network.
Fox Sports Renews Clay Travis
FOX Sports Radio has renewed its contract with sports personality Clay Travis. Under the multi-year agreement, Travis will continue in his current role as host of the network’s morning drive program, Outkick The Coverage with Clay Travis. The show is now heard on about 300 stations.
Bernie Eagan Signing Off For The Last Time
Eagan has been a staple of the Indianapolis airwaves for nearly four decades, but he’s decided to call it a day. He’ll be retiring July 20. Eagan started at Emmis Communications in 1981.

Two More Pirates On The FCC’s Radar
William Puig of Homestead, Florida is accused of operating an illegal radio station from a commercial property on 92.1-FM and a company called Rockaway154 is accused of operating a pirate station from a residential property on Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn at 93.7-FM.
Dent Headed To The NBA Hall
The Nebraska Broadcasters Association of Broadcasters will welcome Dent Otradovsky into its Hall of Fame on August 14 in Lincoln, during the 84th Annual NBA Convention. Otradovsky is the owner and GM of KVSH-AM in Valentine -- the only station he's worked for in his 49-year radio career. He began at KVSH in 1969 as a DJ.
No More Analog For This AM Station
Hubbard's WWFD (820-AM) "The Gamut" in Washington, DC has turned off its analog signal and is now all digital. The station has turned to a partnership with HD Radio to broadcast in digital (the format is a music station playing "A to Z and everything in between"). PD and station engineer Dave Kolesar says AM needs to start trending in this direction.
