For the ninth year, Compass Media Networks will broadcast exclusive, national, audio coverage of the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, beginning Wednesday, March 8 and concluding with the Championship game on Sunday, March 12.

Former VP/GM for Mid America Broadcasting Howard "Fritz" Frederick died peacefully in Scottsdale surrounded by family, this past Monday. He was 90. His grandson, one half of the Fred and Angi Show in Chicago, told Radio Ink, "My grandfather instilled in me a love of radio and broadcasting, and without his support, guidance, and mentorship I'd never be where I am today."

The Big 920, “Milwaukee's Sports Station,” has enlisted Milwaukee sports journalist Drew Olson as the new midday host for The Drew Olson Show, powered by OnMilwaukee.com. The show will air from 1 – 3 p.m. weekdays and debuted yesterday.

Former hockey player Brent Sopel has signed on as hockey analyst and show host with WGN’s The Beat, the station’s weekend sports program. Sopel spent 12 seasons in the NHL and won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010.
