Detroit’s 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) is adding Motor City native Heather Park to the Jamie and Stoney Show as co-host. Her first day will be June 12. The show airs weekdays from 6-10 a.m. Park is the in-park host at Comerica Park for the Detroit Tigers, and the past host of Detroit Sports News on WWJ-TV. She is currently hosting Michigan Golf Weekly for the television station.

Trimmer To Beef Up iHeartMedia Phoenix

The company is bringing Aaron Trimmer to the Arizona capital to be Program Director for 550 KYFI (News), Fox Sports 910 Phoenix, and KYFI 2 (Talk), effective July 5. Trimmer will work closely with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station brands’ on-air and digital news programming, as well as local events and partnerships.

New York Bar Operating Pirate Radio Station

That's what the FCC says after a complaint was filed for an unlicensed signal at 104.5-FM in Brooklyn. Agents found the pirate at 53 Sea Lounge Bar & Restaurant in Mount Vernon, NY. The owner, George Brown, was found to be operating the station and given 10 days to explain to the government why he's operating an unlicensed operation. Read the FCC notice HERE.

Two more members of the House of Representatives have joined as cosponsors of a resolution that opposes any new performance fee, tax or royalty on radio. The Local Radio Freedom Act now has 187 cosponsors in the House and 22 in the Senate. The latest to sign on in the House are Reps. Jeff Duncan of South Carolina and New Jersey's Donald Norcross.
