That's because Amy Griesheimer is no longer with the company after 16 years in the Denver market. A nationwide search is underway for a replacement Market Manager in Denver. In July of 2015, Entercom named Doug Abernethy as VP/GM of its Miami cluster. He joined Entercom in April 2015 after 10 years as a Regional Vice President with Radio One. Entercom has four FMs and one AM in the Denver market.

Dwayne and Marilyn Banks, owners of Marilyn’s Gift Gallery in Waco, have been caught operating an illegal radio station from a commercial suite in Waco at 107.3-FM. The Banks were caught back in September by field agents from the Dallas office and had 10 days to respond to the Commission as of October 13.

Main Studio Rule Hits FCC Agenda

The Federal Communications Commission will meet on Tuesday, October 24 at 10:30 a.m. and item #6 on the agenda is the Elimination of Main Studio Rule. The Commission will consider a Report and Order eliminating the rule that requires each AM, FM, and TV station to maintain a main studio located in or near its community of license.

In supplemental comments filed with the FCC, the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council says the Main Studio Rule is bad for minority broadcasters because it imposes a greater disadvantage on broadcasters who entered the industry later and were unable to assemble clusters of stations that each shared the same community license.
