KSIL-FM in El Paso flips from Regional Mexican to the LATIN X format which is aimed at including all Latinos and Latinas, according to Operations Manager Jesse Rios.

WDIA, iHeartMedia, has been added to the U.S. Civil Rights Trail. The trail includes more than 100 locations across the country that were important to the Civil Rights movement of the '50s and '60s.

And Cumulus CEO Mary Berner said she was very proud of the company’s 2019 results. "On a same station basis, our team has now delivered the second year in a row of revenue growth."

On Thursday Mark Ramsey Media Managing Member Mark Ramsey presented new research to CRS 2020 attendees. The goal of his research was to help PD’s understand their audience better and to bust a few myths about the country radio listener. We caught up with Ramsey shortly after he made his presentation.

Ron Diaz and Ron Bennington were a wildly popular morning show back in the late '80s and early '90s. Based out of Tampa, the show grew to 15 affiliates before it all ended.

That’s what three of the most respected programmers in the Country format hope will happen. David Corey (WKLB Boston), Johnny Chiang (KKBQ Houston), and Nate Deaton (KRTY San Jose) all say their stations do not shy away from playing female artists and they hope this year the rest of the industry will follow their lead.

That’s one conclusion from a new study released by P1 Media Group and MRC Data/Nielsen Music. The study focused on the growth of country music on streaming platforms and how that’s impacting radio.
