Carly Leads The Pack Using Radio
With the Iowa caucus now in the books, Media Monitors has released new radio spot numbers in the primary races in both Iowa and New Hampshire. In the three markets: Des Moines, Quad Cities, IA, and Omaha, NE (includes Council Bluffs, IA), that Media Monitors focused on, spots for Carly Fiorina’s super PAC, CARLY for America top the list at 1,435.

No Changes For Radio’s Top Advertisers
It was steady as she goes for radio's top five advertisers for the week of January 25. Walgreens held onto the top spot airing 63,506 commercials, followed by GEICO with 42,226.
Despite Snow, January Auto Sales Look Strong
J.D. Power reports that radio's largest advertising category will report a very good month to start off the year selling an average of 36,499 new-vehicles every day. The seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) for January is expected to reach 13.9 million units, up from 13.8 million in January 2015.

In the National On-Air Personality category, the nominees who are up for the ACM award are: Blair Garner and Chuck Wicks from America’s Morning Show, Cody Alan (CMT After MidNite), Lon Helton (Country Countdown USA), Lorianne Crook, Charlie Chase (The Crook and Chase Countdown), Sam Alex (Taste of Country Nights), The Bobby Bones Show, Whitney Allen, Jackie Stevens, Mike McNamee (The Big Time). Two Weeks Left To Apply For BMI Scholarship
The BMI Foundation's Founders Award is an annual scholarship competition open to radio broadcasting students for the purpose of cultivating future innovators in radio. A $5,000 scholarship will be awarded for the best original essay response entry.
Access1 Sells WWRL-AM New York
The buyer is NJ Broadcasting, owned by Dr. Shukla, a pediatric physician, who also owns, 7 Days Pediatrics, located in Edison, New Jersey. Shukla is now operating the station under an LMA. The station will provide programming for the South Asian Community and it will be called “Radio Zindagi."
“Country Dashboard” Now Available
Country Dashboard is a new product that delivers information and audio about country music artists and the country music scene in real time. The product is a collaboration between by KMG Networks, Harris Media (the producer of Control Room Pro), AdLarge Media, and Lon Helton's Country Aircheck.
