About 90 percent of EAS activations are generated by the National Weather Service (NWS) and concern weather events. The amended FCC rules add three new “event codes” that can be used to warn the public about the storm surges and extreme winds that may accompany hurricanes and other severe weather events.

Fort Myers Florida Conservative Morning Show host Drew Steele announced Monday he was leaving 92.5 Fox News Radio to take a job at KSL in Salt Lake City. The person who hosted mornings before Steele was Trey Radel (pictured) who went on to become a Congressman in 2012.

In a long feature story about his successful radio journey and best-selling book, iHeartMedia syndicated country host Bobby Bones tells Rolling Stone he's had 15 death threats. "I have security with me everywhere I go. It's not even that they care about me, Bobby. But I'm an asset to the company." Bones tells Rolling Stone writer Joseph Hudak, "I'm the best interviewer in the whole format. Except for Howard Stern, I'd put myself against anybody. Because I ask human questions." When we all woke up on Friday to the horrific events in Dallas, many of us grabbed the first digital device we could find to tune into a local radio station to get the best coverage directly from that city. Cumulus owned WBAP was in a local talk show monitoring the protests when the sniper story broke. We spoke to WBAP Program Director Tyler Cox this weekend. He detailed how WBAP covered the event when it broke and in the days that followed.
