After 60 years, the Bordes family was ready to sell, and when Caroline Beasley called Greater Media CEO Peter Smyth last November, he was ready to deal. In our interview with Smyth, he says the fit was right with Beasley, being that both are family-owned businesses. Brewers, WTMJ Extend Partnership
Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers and Scripps owned 620 WTMJ have extended their radio rights agreement, although the length of that new agreement was not disclosed. WTMJ-AM has served as the radio flagship of the Brewers for all but two seasons since the team moved to Milwaukee in 1970.
Townsquare Partners With Financing Firm Lendio
Townsquare Media and Lendio, which focuses on small business loans, have formed a new partnership. Townsquare Media CEO Steven Price says "Partnering with Lendio will allow us to further support and service our loyal SMB clients as a true business partner while powering local economic growth."
Panthers, WQAM Extend Agreement
The NHL's Florida Panthers have reached a multi-year contract extension with WQAM-AM in Miami to continue to broadcast all Panthers regular season and playoff games. Play-by-play announcer Doug Plagens and analyst Bill Lindsay will return to call all the action.

New York’s 710 WOR programming can now also be heard on FM station 104.3 HD 2 (WAXQ-FM), by anyone who owns an HD radio. The station covers all New York Mets games.
104.9 The Wolf Sitting To Save “Seats for Soldiers”
104.9 The Wolf/WXCL (Peoria) Program Director Dr. Chris Michaels and Afternoon Host, Joe Greenwood will be saving “Seats for Soldiers” at Dozer Park July 21-22. In an ambitious move, the station will be trying to save every seat in the Peoria Chiefs’ baseball park for a soldier, while raising money for Hope For The Warriors.
Just How Big Will Beasley Become?
If this deal did go through as is (Beasley plans to divest stations in Charlotte to get FCC approval) with Beasley keeping all 21 Greater Media stations, Beasley would grow from a company with $106 million in revenue to a company with $247 million.
So What Is Beasley Getting For $240 Million?
The 21 stations Greater Media owns are in Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. No doubt part of the reason this deal made sense to the Beasley family was the fact that Greater Media owned stations in two markets Beasley also had clusters in (Philadelphia and Charlotte). This would give them the opportunity to grow those clusters. Let's take a closer look at the markets...
