Cumulus owned KFOG in San Francisco has announced its 2016 Concert for Kids lineup. The holiday concert is taking place Thursday, December 8, at the Masonic in San Francisco, with Band of Horses, Blind Pilot and The Revivalists, and benefits UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and Marines Toys for Tots. This show is in its 31st year.

If anyone thought Don Imus was going to retire any time soon, you can forget about that idea. The I-man just signed a multi-year renewal with Cumulus and 77 WABC in New York that will extend his radio career in New York to over 40 years.

There aren't too many broadcasters left that are as unique, creative and genuinely nice as Charles Osgood. The good news is that when Osgood retired from his position as host of CBS's Sunday morning news program, he decided he was going to continue his broadcasts on the radio as part of the Westwood One family. Recently Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan announced his company was selling its Terre Haute radio stations and Texas Monthly. In an SEC filing yesterday, the company announced it would pay severance to all employees not offered employment. And Emmis will pay a bonus to all employees. Here are the details.

Entercom has scheduled a bank meeting for today to launch a refinancing of all of its existing senior and senior unsecured debt. The Company expects to enter into a new $520 million senior secured credit facility composed of a $60 million revolving credit facility with a 5 year maturity and a $460 million term loan B with a 7 year maturity.

Jacobs Media conducts the annual survey with the Public Radio Program Directors association. Over 29,000 public radio listeners from 69 stations participate in the survey that focuses on how media and technology are changing the listening environment.

To say voters are not very happy with their two major-party choices for President this year is not a news flash, and may be the understatement of the century. The folks at NextRadio say a recently conducted survey of NextRadio users found that 35% of the 3,700 respondents do not plan to vote, with another 23% answering they are undecided about voting. According to Media Monitors, in the 85 major markets the company gathers data from, Hillary Clinton’s campaign aired 15,609 radio commercials over the past 10 days. Donald Trump’s campaign only ran five spots on the radio.

The six stations Ed Levine's Galaxy Communications is picking up are in the Berkshires area of western Massachusetts, operating as “Berkshires Media Group,” and owned by Gamma Broadcasting. The stations are WBEC-FM, WBEC-AM, WUPE-FM, WUPE-AM, WSBS-AM, and WNAW-AM.
