Alpha Media is selling five Kansas stations to Rocking M Media. The five stations are in Salina, Abilene and Manhattan Kansas. The stations are; KSAL-AM 1150; KSAL-FM 104.9; KABI-AM 1560; KYEZ-FM 93.7 and KBLS-FM 102.5. No price was announced.

Dan Seeman is the Vice President and Market Manager for Hubbard Radio in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. He oversees KS95, myTalk 107.1, 1500 ESPN, and the 24-station Hubbard Radio Network. Having been wildly successful at WTMJ in Milwaukee for over two decades, surely he has some advice for younger broadcasters looking to make a name for themselves. In another move to shed assets and pay down debt, Emmis has signed an agreement to sell Texas Monthly to an affiliate of private equity firm Genesis Park, a partnership founded by Paul Hobby, for $25 million. Emmis has owned Texas Monthly since 1998.

We hear it all the time, 'radio plays too many commercials.' There's no denying that but radio is not alone. eMarketer reports that Millennials are turning to ad blockers to help combat that the abundance of ads they see shooting at them online. Two out of three millennials now use an ad blocker on a desktop or mobile device.

The 50th Annual CMA Awards will air live on Wednesday, November 2, 8-11 p.m. on ABC. And radio will get things rolling in advance with a two-hour special on ABC Radio, October 28.
