(2018) iHeart Wins The Top 10 Battle
The top 10 revenue-generating stations took in a whopping $458 million in 2018, according to BIA. iHeart captured the most revenue, $228 million from five stations.
News Format Dominates
Five out of the top 10 billing radio stations were in the News or News/Talk format (WTOP-FM, WINS-AM, WCBS-FM, WBBM-AM, and KFI-AM), generating $223.5 of the $458 million total.
BIA: Digital Revenue Still Climbing For Radio
In 2018, according to BIA, radio's over-the-air revenue was down slightly to $13.3 billion, from $15.5 billion, a decline of 1.6%. Digital was up 8.1% to $923 million, the sixth straight year digital revenue has increased for radio.
iHeart Radio Revenue Up 3% in Q1
iHeartMedia posted its first quarter financials with the SEC Wednesday. The radio division increased 3% for the first three months of the years, jumping to $765.8 million from $744.6 million in 2018.
Westwood One News Wins Sigma Delta Chi Award

WTOP, iHeart Win Big
Radio was represented well by WTOP, iHeartMedia and other radio companies in the 2019 Regional Edward R. Murrow awards, which were announced Tuesday. The awards were given for breaking news, continuing coverage, investigative reporting and overall excellence. Combined, WTOP and iHeart took home 18.
