Daniel Anstandig's Futuri Media has received a patent to further protect the system the company has built which powers Listener Driven Radio, a takeover technology already in place at hundreds of radio stations.

Thomas Mancusi will run AudioBoom's new ad sales unit as VP of Sales and Development. AudioBoom is a platform that hosts, distributes, and monetizes content. AudioBoom works with broadcasters, content creators, and podcasters hosting almost 8,000 content channels with over 35 million listens per month.

iHeart creates a new position called Country Content Bureau Chief for its Nashville-based team. Zack Massey gets the gig and he'll report to Senior VP of Digital Content Strategy for iHeartMedia Dan Shelley. Massey will oversee the new Digital Content Bureau for iHeartMedia's Country stations which will produce content for iHeartCountry.com and iHeartMedia's more than 140 Country radio station websites.

SiriusXM issued a press release Monday that said it added 465,000 net new subscribers in the first quarter of 2016, resulting in a new total of 30.1 million subs as of the end of Q1. That's a record for the company. Self-pay net additions were 348,000 in the quarter, resulting in a self-pay subscriber base of 24.6 million at quarter's end. SiriusXM reports first-quarter revenue on April 28, 2016.

iHeartMedia announced Friday the lineup for the Daytime Village at the iHeartCountry Festival on Saturday, April 30 from 3-6 p.m. CT at Frank Erwin Center's North Box Office Plaza. The free daytime event will feature live performances by Bobby Bones and The Raging Idiots, Granger Smith, LoCash, Chris Lane, and Maren Morris. Bobby Bones will host the main stage.

Daniel Anstandig's Futuri Media has acquired StreamOn, a company that specializes in streaming, podcasting, and social media for radio. StreamOn co-founder Andrew Snook becomes VP of Streaming Systems at Futuri. The terms of the deal were not announced.

iHeartMedia announced Thursday the full line-up for its Daytime Village at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival. The Daytime Village will return to the Las Vegas Village across from the Luxor Hotel and Casino on Saturday, September 24, ­ between the two nights of the sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on September 23 and 24.

Wrestling fans will be happy to see that PodcastOne has added sports-entertainment star and former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Vince Russo to the network’s lineup of podcasts hosted by WWE alumn.

Dr. Ronald Hoffman’s syndicated Intelligent Medicine show airs on more than 70 stations across the country. Hoffman's podcast has now been downloaded over two million times.

The folks at the Research Director are hosting a webinar Thursday called "Radio and Pureplays: Keeping the Ad Dollars That Belong to Us.". The company says Internet pureplays are stealing a portion of radio’s ad dollars and more and more advertising money is being spent on digital.
