The podcast universe keeps expanding. This time it’s a new program narrated and researched by author James Andrew Miller. Origins, the podcast will explore beginnings -- whether from the worlds of television, movies, sports, music, business, or human relationships -- to explain how greatness starts and how critical happenings come to be.

iHeartRadio’s Artist Stories is a popular video series that takes a deep dive into how artists got their start, and explores what inspires them. And it was just honored by the 21st Annual Webby Awards in the Best Film & Video -- Unscripted (Branded) category.

The media giant has revealed its full lineup for the Daytime Village at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival, September 22 and 23, in Las Vegas. The popular and emerging artists on the bill include Halsey, Little Mix, Bleachers, Niall Horan, Bebe Rexha, Cheat Codes, Flume, and more.

Los Angeles-based Geffen Playhouse gets a worldwide audience in a new podcast, Geffen Playhouse Unscripted, which debuted Wednesday on PodcastOne.

The Herd with Colin Cowherd reached 5.7 million across all platforms for the month of March – the first time that total podcast listens for the program have surpassed the 5 million mark.

The BIG Podcast with Shaq will broadcast its 100th episode Tuesday, April 11. Shaquille O’Neal will record the show live at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta. Proceeds from the program will be given to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in honor of Shaq and his mother, Lucille. The 100th episode will be available on-demand, beginning April 17 at PodcastOne.com

It’s another news alternative. Beginning Wednesday, April 5, new NPR news podcast Up First will be online every weekday by 6 a.m. ET. The show will feature lively conversation about the day’s top news stories with hosts David Greene, Rachel Martin, and Steve Inskeep talking with NPR journalists and correspondents to preview the news that will drive the day.

This new relationship with cloud-based audio management platform, Omny Studio and Triton Digital will allow Emmis to capture, edit and distribute all of its content for on-demand use by its listeners Emmis has already begun using the technology to create audio archives for each of its shows.

It’s called Sean, Funky and the Baddest Man on the Planet, and the men behind the mic are Sean Wheelock, reigning One Championship Welterweight titlist Ben “Funky” Askren and former Bellator Featherweight and Bantamweight champion “The Baddest Man on the Planet” Joe Warren.

It’s nearly Daytime Village time again, at the iHeartCountry Festival, a Music Experience by AT&T on Saturday, May 6 from 2:30-6 p.m. CT. The show will be held at Frank Erwin Center's North Box Office Plaza in Austin, Texas.
