Chuck “DZL” Thompson has been named Program Director for Country station 96.9 The Kat/Charlotte. He will report to Chadwick “A.J.” Hausknecht, Region Senior Vice President for iHeartMedia’s Virginia-Carolina Region.
Thompson is a seasoned media veteran and has been with iHeartMedia since 2002. He most recently served as PD for 106.5 The End/Charlotte. Prior to that, he managed programming for WRXL-FM in Richmond, Virginia. He has held on-air and programming roles in various cities throughout his career, including Atlanta, Columbia, SC, and Rochester, NY. He began his career at WZGC-FM in Atlanta.
