Emmis CEO and founder Jeff Smulyan has been named the recipient of this year’s Mike Carroll Award, given in memory of former deputy mayor and civic leader Mike Carroll. The annual award, selected by the Indianapolis Business Journal, honors a community member who has demonstrated determination, humility, and devotion to the central Indiana community.
“Jeff Smulyan’s contributions to central Indiana extend far beyond what he has achieved at Emmis Communications,” said Greg Morris, publisher and president of Indianapolis Business Journal. “He cares deeply about the community, and as a result is always happy to help out organizations large and small.”
Smulyan will be presented the award at the IBJ’s upcoming Engage Indiana event on Friday, December 8.
