Melissa Rios is trading the studio for the road two mornings every week. Reyna 103.1 (KDLD) will broadcast La Tiendita Mornings from a mobile studio in what Entravision calls the Los Angeles radio market’s first live mobile morning show.
La Tiendita is the latest original from Reyna, which the company describes as a creator-led, multimedia platform curated by Latinas, for Latinas. It launched in August with KDLD as its flagship station. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the show broadcasts live from the Reyna studio. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Rios rolls out in the “ReynaLona” Bronco and broadcasts from neighborhood cafecitos and local businesses across Los Angeles.
Entravision President of Audio Eduardo Maytorena said, “We’re excited to launch La Tiendita, a new Reyna programming franchise inspired by the neighborhood shops that bring our communities together. Melissa brings the authenticity, energy, and connection to make La Tiendita a place where Latina voices, stories, and experiences come together.”
Reyna Interim Head of Programming Isabel Gonzalez said, “La Tiendita doesn’t wait for listeners to come to us. Twice a week, Melissa will take the show to the neighborhoods, businesses and corners of LA where our audience lives, and that’s what Reyna is all about. Our show is not just about showing up, but about being part of the community and connecting with them face to face.”
Rios said, “Authenticity isn’t just something I talk about. It’s something I’ve built my entire career. In this new chapter, I’m excited to lead a show that will connect with Latinas like no other program can.”
