The Hot AC sound is gone from 96.5 in Philadelphia, replaced by Country music’s current stars. The new US 96.5 arrives with a full weekday lineup on the way and a direct rival to a heritage station now competing for the same audience in the City of Brotherly Love.
US 96.5 (WTDY) launched Monday, replacing The New 96.5, which had been in place since May 2023. Regular weekday programming begins October 26 with Audacy’s syndicated Katie and Company, Coop, Rob and Holly, and Mo and StyckMan. A new morning show will be announced soon.
With its new identity, the station will go head-to-head with Beasley’s Country station 92.5 XTU (WXTU), which has kept the same format since 1984.
Audacy Country Format VP Tim Roberts said, “Country music has a special way of connecting people, and we are excited to bring a brand-new destination to this important market. Adding US 96.5 in Philadelphia expands our footprint and brings even more world-class entertainment to our listeners – it’s a terrific addition to Audacy’s strong station lineup in the city.”
