Commodore football’s radio home is set for years to come, just in time for kickoff. Vanderbilt Athletics and Cromwell Media have extended their multiyear broadcast partnership, keeping games and weekly programming on Nashville airwaves.
Under the new agreement, 102.5 The Game (WPRT) continues as the radio flagship for all Vanderbilt football, men’s basketball, and baseball games, along with the Commodores’ weekly Commodore Hour show. 94.9 The Fan (WQZQ-AM) will step in for broadcasts that conflict with the Nashville Predators’ schedule and will continue to carry all Vanderbilt women’s basketball games.
Cromwell Media has aired Vanderbilt Athletics since 2020.
The Vanderbilt Sports Network from Learfield is also expanding for the fall. Existing affiliates in Memphis (WMPS) and Lewisburg (WJJM) will be joined by new stations in Cowan (WZYX) and the Johnson City and Tri-Cities market (WETB-AM).
Vanderbilt Sports Properties General Manager Sean Ferretti said, “We’re incredibly proud to continue our partnership with Cromwell Media and provide Commodore fans across Middle Tennessee with a home for Vanderbilt Athletics. Vanderbilt has a rich tradition on the airwaves in Music City, and we’re excited to build on that legacy alongside a tremendous partner in Cromwell Media. With 102.5 The Game and 94.9 The Fan, Commodore fans will continue to have outstanding access to the teams they love throughout the region.”
Cromwell Media Director of Operations and Sports Programming Chase McCabe said, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to continue our fantastic relationship with Vanderbilt Athletics. Vandy fans have been able to hear history on our stations, and we’re confident the Dores will continue to shine over the next few years.”
