Jarrett Payton Replaces Mulligan for Mornings on The Score

Three days after Audacy Chicago’s 104.3 The Score (WSCR) parted ways with Mike Mulligan after more than two decades, the station has announced that Jarrett Payton, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Walter Payton, will co-host mornings alongside David Haugh.

Before joining The Score, Payton served as an anchor for WGN-TV’s 4p and 9p weekday newscasts and co-host of GN Sports. He previously co-hosted SportsFeed on the now-defunct CLTV and played running back at the University of Miami before a brief NFL career with the Tennessee Titans in 2005, followed by stints in the Canadian Football League.

The new morning show, Haugh and Payton, debuts on August 31. Mulligan’s exit came alongside midday host Marshall Harris, Radio Ink reported Friday.

WSCR Vice President and Brand Manager Mitch Rosen said, “Today marks an exciting new chapter for The Score. We’re excited to welcome Jarrett Payton and believe his experience, perspective and deep connection to Chicago and its great fan bases will be a tremendous addition to our morning show alongside David Haugh.”

Payton added, “I’m truly excited and deeply honored to join the team at The Score. I’m looking forward to working alongside everyone there and connecting with the loyal listeners who make this station what it is. This place has always felt like family to me. My dad graced these airwaves back in the ’90s, and the thought of being part of that same legacy means everything. Grateful beyond words for this opportunity. Let’s get to work.”
