At Forecast 2027, Radio Ink and RBR+TVBR are proud to present their respective Lifetime Leadership Awards to two of broadcasting’s most respected executives, honoring careers that together span a century of radio and television leadership.
Harvey Nagler, former Vice President of Radio at CBS News, and Valari Dobson Staab, Chairman of NBCUniversal Local, will receive the honors at broadcasting’s premier leadership summit, returning to the Harvard Club of New York City on November 12.
“Valeri Staab and Harvey Nagler have set an enduring standard for leadership, integrity, and service to the broadcast industry,” said Radio Ink and RBR+TVBR Publisher Deborah Parenti. “Their Lifetime Leadership Awards are richly deserved.”
Nagler built his reputation over six decades in radio news, rising from a young reporter at WCTC-AM in New Brunswick, NJ, to director of news and programming at WCBS Newsradio 880 in New York, and ultimately to Vice President of Radio at CBS News, where CBS News Radio won the Radio Television Digital News Association’s Edward R. Murrow Overall Excellence Award for seven consecutive years under his leadership.
Staab has spent four decades shaping local media, joining NBCUniversal in 2011 and rising to Chairman of NBCUniversal Local in 2022, where she now oversees 50 media properties, including 11 NBC-owned and 31 Telemundo-owned stations, delivering English- and Spanish-language news, sports, and digital content across 30 U.S. markets and Puerto Rico.
Now in its 24th year, Forecast brings together the broadcast industry’s owners, CFOs, group executives, and Wall Street analysts for a full day of data-driven sessions on the business of radio and television. Nagler and Staab will be honored during the day’s luncheon. That evening, Radio Ink‘s 40 Most Powerful People in Radio and RBR+TVBR‘s Top Broadcast Television Leaders will be honored during the cocktail hour.
