Allen Power’s retirement as Salem Media President of Broadcast has set off a leadership shuffle at the NAB Radio Board. The association has named a new first vice chair of the executive committee and appointed a new director, filling the two seats Power held.
In June, Power was elected first vice chair of the Radio Board executive committee, alongside Beasley Media Group General Counsel Chris Ornelas as chair and Lenawee Broadcasting Company’s Julie Koehn as second vice chair. Days later, Power announced that he would retire from Salem on September 30 and move into a Senior Advisor role.
Townsquare Media Chief Operating Officer Erik Hellum has been named first vice chair of the Radio Board executive committee, assuming the seat Power held on the committee. Salem Media Group CEO David Santrella has been appointed to the Radio Board of Directors, taking the New England District seat Power held.
Hellum currently represents the Southern Texas District on the Radio Board. He oversees Townsquare Media’s 336 radio stations and digital marketing services across 74 markets, and recently completed his term as board chair of the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), where he is now immediate past chair.
Santrella previously chaired the NAB Board of Directors from 2021 to 2023.
