Connoisseur Media has flipped WARQ in Columbia, South Carolina from Live 93.5 to 93.5 The Bubble. The broadcaster says the new station, whose name is a nod to Columbia’s “Soda City” nickname, is built around a “feel good” vibe rather than a format.
The weekday lineup opens with the syndicated Anna & Raven Show in mornings, Kenzie holds middays, Bubble Program Director Brendan Croghan takes afternoons, and Erik Zachary hosts the nationally-distributed XYZ in evenings.
Connoisseur SVP of Programming Keith Dakin said, “Columbia was missing a radio station that appeals to the thirty-something female and the music she grew up with, along with the big artists of today. We liked the opportunity to create a name that felt fun and local.”
Croghan commented, “We wanted to build something that feels as refreshing and fun as the name itself. 93.5 The Bubble is packed with the hits people grew up with and the favorites they love today. It’s the kind of station you pop on and suddenly your whole day feels a little lighter.”

Let’s take bets on how long it takes before the bubble pops. Seriously, talk about an un-serious attempt at a formatting strategy.
