The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters has named Payne Media Group owner Will Payne as its next President, succeeding outgoing OAB President Vance Harrison following his impending retirement at the organization’s 2026 Annual Convention.
A third-generation Oklahoma broadcaster, Payne currently serves as OAB Board Chairman and sits on the NAB Board of Directors. His company operates six FM stations in Southeastern Oklahoma and has invested heavily in digital expansion, including video streaming for high school sports.
Harrison’s tenure as President of the OAB has spanned two decades. Under his leadership, the association enhanced member services, achieved legislative victories, and grew into a Top Ten state broadcaster association in financial strength. His contributions earned him induction into the OAB Hall of Fame in 2019 and the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 2023.
The OAB represents more than 125 radio station members.
In a statement, the OAB Board of Directors said, “Will Payne has the skills, the desire, the enthusiasm, and the institutional knowledge to continue the success of the OAB and take it to new heights.”
Harrison added, “Will Payne is exactly who we need to lead the OAB right now. His unparalleled success as an innovative broadcaster will help all Oklahoma broadcasters now and going forward.”
